Festival "Father Frost against Putin"

From January 12 to 14 (weekend) the festival “Father Frost against Putin” will take place.

Festival "Father Frost against Putin" - celebrating the 10th anniversary of the festival, January 12-14, 2024.

The festival "Father Frost against Putin" was first organized 10 years ago. From 2014 to 2020, the festival was held seven times, with participants from Russian public organizations talking about their activities and establishing connections with each other.

The festival is organized for Russian anti-authoritarian activists - feminists, anti-militarists, anti-fascists, human rights activists and their supporters, as well as for artists and researchers. Now that the borders are virtually closed, the target group is those who fled Russia and anyone interested in the Russian struggle against authoritarianism.

Welcome to everyone who wants to demand the overthrow of the authoritarian government in Russia, an end to the war and a total boycott of the Russian military economy!

The first 20-30 registered guests will be allocated a place to sleep on mattresses in a guest accommodation in an area of Helsinki for at least one night from Saturday to Sunday, in a place that will be announced upon arrival (unfortunately we cannot guarantee that bed linen and sleeping bags will be provided, so you'd better bring your own). You do not need to register if you do not need a place to stay. The rest will have to book hotels themselves. (Democratic community members can also ask in chat about posting opportunities.)

At the festival, Evgenia Chirikova will also speak on the topic “Activism during the war,” as well as representatives of the conscientious objector movement.

The festival events will take place in the premises of Oransi (Kaasutehtaankatu 1) and Ulrika (Domus Gaudium, Leppäsuonkatu 11).

Both sites are wheelchair accessible and the premises have private toilets.
