On November 30, 2023, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation recognized the "LGBT+ movement" as extremist, violating several fundamental human rights with this decision.
A year later, on November 30 from 12:00 to 13:00, a demonstration in support of the Russian LGBTQ+ community will take place at the Russian Embassy in Helsinki. The organizers from Queer Asylum: Fi want to show their disagreement with the decision of the Russian authorities and support everyone affected by it.
What to expect from the demonstration: this is a peaceful action with posters and LGBT+ flags, which are banned in Russia. The organizers have prepared posters, but if you have your own, bring them, the main thing is that they do not call for violence and do not contain personal insults. After the demonstration, it is planned to gather in a warm, friendly atmosphere to support each other.
Dress warmly, it can be cold to stand in one place!
Everyone is welcome to the event, regardless of nationality, religion or identity.
The organizers speak English, Russian and Finnish.
