🌍 Free Online Course “Democratic Values” — specially for Russian speakers in Finland, Latvia, and Sweden!
Do you live in Finland (Latvia or Sweden), speak Russian, and want to better understand what lies behind the concept of “democracy”?
Would you like to learn how to conduct reasoned political discussions, understand institutions, and critically evaluate information? Then this course is for you!
🔹 What the course offers:
• 17 sessions (lectures + discussions) on key topics: the role and mechanisms of democracy, elections, the constitution, human rights, civic participation, and much more.
• Work on a group project under the guidance of recognized experts.
• Opportunity to present your project at the final online conference.
• Knowledge and skills you can apply in studies, work, or civic initiatives.
🔹 Who can participate:
• Russian speakers residing in Finland, Latvia, or Sweden (regardless of citizenship)
• Any age, any level of education
• Willingness to write a short motivation letter
🔹 When does it start:
• The course begins on October 18
• Applications are accepted until October 5

The course is organized by the Free University, the Democratic Community of Russian Speakers in Finland, and the Anti-War Committee in Sweden, with the support of the Nordic Council of Ministers as part of the project “Empowering Communities in Latvia, Finland and Sweden: Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law for Russian Speakers.”
