Rally in support of Bogdan Dremin

What happened?

Bogdan Dremin, manager and sound producer of FACE, found himself in a very sad situation. Being a consistent critic of the regime, the creative team of FACE was the first artist recognized as a foreign agent in Russia. Due to the risk of persecution upon returning to Russia, Bogdan requested political asylum in Finland in the spring of 2023, but for 1.5 years they did not even begin to consider it. The prolonged uncertainty and the lack of any status greatly affected his mental health and life in general.

Finnish media Yle and Voima have already covered his situation:

What are we doing?

The cultural organization Tochka.fi and the Democratic Community of Russian-Speakers in Finland are organizing a rally asking Migri to look into Bogdan's case. We are not demanding anything out of the ordinary, we are simply asking the Migration Board to do their job - open Bogdan's case and make the decision they deem right based on the content of the case.

Why are we doing this?

One of the goals of Tochka.fi is to support artists fleeing persecution for their position. We cannot ignore this situation, either as people or as an organization. We will fight for our artists.

The Democratic Community is dealing with the problem of protracted asylum cases for activists and those who left the mobilization.
The Democratic Community wants to draw attention to the problem when people have been in a state of uncertainty for about 2 years.
